TAPESCRIPT

Extract 1
We live in quite a small flat so I don’t know exactly where we’re going to put it but once we get rid of the old one there should be a bit more space. Ever since they came out I’ve wanted one. It’s just not the same seeing something really good without proper stereo and on such a small screen. Anyway, I’ve been saving up and I hope to have enough money by Christmas. I haven’t told Eli. I want it to be surprise for her. I should have enough money to get some of our favourites on DVD, but we’ll join a club too.

Extract 2
We always go somewhere in the summer but it’s usually just sun and sand and a good rest. This year I wanted to be something special because it’s our tenth wedding anniversary on 5th July. I’ve booked the tickets and I’m sure it’s going to be absolutely fantastic. We’re staying in this amazing hotel and they send a limousine to pick you up from the airport. There are lots of tours you can go on. You can visit the big studios and the stars’ homes. Perhaps we’ll get to see Michael Douglas’s house. I hear it’s absolutely fabulous. I can hardly wait.

Extract 3
I’ve lived in an apartment for the last couple of years. It’s very convenient for work but it does seem a bit small sometimes. I dream of owning a dog and being able to grow my own vegetables! I’d also like to be able to invite friends to stay and at the moment I’ve only got a sofa bed in the living room, so I can’t really put anyone up for more than a couple of nights. I spoke to the bank manager and he seems to think I should be able to borrow the money. Of course, I’ll have to spend less on other things but it does seem like an incredible opportunity.

Extract 4
I’ve always thought they were really fantastic. I don’t think there’s a single one of their records I haven’t bought but living so far from the city I’ve never managed to see them live the two times they’ve been here. Sandy saw the tour announced on the internet and she wrote off for tickets without telling me anything about it. She arranged for us to stay the weekend in her sister’s flat so it won’t be all that expensive. I haven’t decided what I’m going to wear yet but I want it to be something that will stand out.
We’ve got seats very near the stage and who knows, they might actually notice us.
