Tapescript

I= Interviewer  N=Nikos

I: What are your plans for the immediate future?
N: Well, by the end of this year I will have finished my studies and I plan to have a ‘gap year’ before I start work. I expect that in February next year I will be traveling somewhere in Australia or New Zeeland.
I: How long do you think you will be away?
N: Well, unfortunately my money will almost certainly have run out after a couple of months and I will probably be working somewhere. If I can’t find a job, I’ll have to come home earlier.
I: So in two years’ time where do you expect to be?
N: I suppose I’ll be living here again. This is my home, after all. Perhaps I will have moved into a flat with friends, because at the moment I live at home with my family and I would like to be more independent.

Dear Ingrid,
Thank you for your message. I will try to answer your questions as clear as possible.
First of all, although the weather is usually sunny here during the day in February, there is often a cool breeze. I would suggest bringing long-sleeved tops and probably a sweater or jacket. If you don’t plan to bring much luggage you could possibly wear your warmer clothes on the plane to save space.
You also asked about transport from the airport to the hotel. We will do our best to meet everyone but if you are arriving after midnight this may be difficult because our minibus will probably have stopped running by then. There are buses until 2 a.m. but after that you will have to get a taxi. Perhaps you could arrange to share one with another passenger from your flight.
Finally, I wanted to tell you that the conference takes place at the same time as the carnival. If you enjoy going out at night during carnival, it’s a good idea to bring a fancy dress costume.
I hope that answers your questions. If you have any more, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me again.
Kind regards,
Leila Carrasco
