1. The Romans wrote a
message on a messenger’s head. When he reached his destination, his head was
shaved again to show the message.
2. The ancient Chinese
wrote messages on silk, covered them with wax and swallowed them.
3. The message is written
on the shell of a hard-boiled egg and passes through to the white of the egg.
To read the message, the receiver simply had to remove the shell.
4. You can write a message
using invisible ink made from milk or lemon juice, which reappears when heated.
5. The sender would wind a
strip of leather around a piece of wood and a message was written across it. To
reveal the message, the receiver would simply wind it round a stick of the same
size and shape that the sender had used.
6. Instead of rearranging
the letters of the whole message, you can rearrange the letters of each word.
